Facilities

At QUT, our 40 000 students benefit from modern facilities including four extensive libraries housing a comprehensive collection of books, journals and other resources fully supported by an efficient online computer database. Access to free inter-campus bus services, on-campus fitness centre’s, heated swimming pools, and theatres, make life at QUT convenient and lively for students.

Want to access QUT information from home? QUT Virtual is our state of the art student administration system, providing online support including the ability to change subjects, check results and download lecture materials.

This and other services are accessible from our 24 hour computer labs on each campus. Other facilities include media enabled lecture theatres, labs, studios, child care centre’s, podiatry, optometry and human movement clinics, travel agents, book shops and banking facilities.

QUT is located in Brisbane, the capital city of Queensland, on the east coast of Australia. Brisbane has been voted one of the world’s most liveable cities with a sub-tropical climate, friendly people, relaxed lifestyle and affordable cost of living (Economist Intelligence United 2005 survey).

The QUT community is buzzing all year round with international students playing a major role in many festivals and events. As a QUT student you will meet people from all over the world, attend international festivals, national band competitions, Oktoberfest and other regular events at our three campus clubs.

Worried about studying in a different country? At QUT you can be sure you'll receive personal attention and support from professionals. Services include academic and personal counseling, accommodation and employment assistance, homestay, orientation, airport reception, free health consultations, language and learning advice, workshops and seminars. Help is ongoing, can be accessed at any time and is sensitive to the needs of international students.

QUT is also one of only two Australian universities that offer a free career planning and employment service, including a unique work placement scheme to place you in an internship in your home country.
